New MiR MC600 mobile cobot takes industrial automation to new heights
Mobile Industrial Robots (MiR) announced the market debut of its new MC600 mobile collaborative robot - the latest addition to the company's growing portfolio of globally recognized MiR Go products. With payload of up to 600 kg, the MC600 combines the mobility of an autonomous MiR600 robot with Universal Robots' (UR) UR20/UR30 cobot arm, automating complex industrial workflows.
Designed based on the success of its smaller "brother" MC250, the new MC600 offers a powerful complex system for handling heavier materials and automate tasks such as palletizing, box making and equipment servicing. The extended range of the UR20 allows the MC600 to seamlessly handle work operations where smaller cobots previously were inapplicable, increasing productivity in a variety of industrial areas.
The global mobile cobots market is projected to grow at a CAGR of 46% by 2030, driven by the need for more efficient and flexible automation solutions. According to Jean-Pierre Haut, President of MiR, the MC600 has all the prerequisites and is well positioned to meet this demand, offering businesses a leading-edge, safe and integration-ready system designed for ease of use, process repeatability and ongoing support. For companies looking for scalable automation, the MC600 mobile cobot ensures operational efficiency and long-term reliability.
The combination of the "legs" of a mobile robot with the "arms" of an industrial cobot and their integration into a single system allows the MC600 to address multiple challenges of automated workflow, such as palletizing and machine tending. The MC600 is ready today to safely and securely tackle all the pressing problems of modern automation.
Increasing productivity and ergonomics
The MC600 mobile cobot significantly improves productivity by almost completely eliminating downtime, servicing multiple machines and performing operational tasks without interruption, while reallocating employees to higher value-added operations. Additionally, by taking over the transportation of heavy loads, the MC600 significantly improves ergonomics, reduces physical strain on workers and increases workplace safety.
Innovative robotics collaboration
Both MiR and Universal Robots (UR) are visionaries of modern robotics, consistently setting the industry standard for innovation by merging artificial intelligence (AI) with cutting-edge technology. The new MC600 combines MiR's strength in autonomous mobility with UR's cutting-edge robotic solutions to deliver unparalleled flexibility, safety and top-level efficiency in industrial automation. Driven by a unified software platform from Enabled Robotics, a MiR Go partner, the MC600 seamlessly coordinates its mobile base and robotic arms, simplifying integration to existing workflows and ensuring smooth manufacturing operations.
The smaller MC250 mobile cobot has proven particularly practical and popular in semiconductor manufacturing facilities and other production tasks with a need for lower payloads. Even then, the need for a mobile cobot that could handle heavier production applications was clear. The MC600 fully meets these requirements and is an excellent example of how we are constantly looking for ways to offer our customers the flexibility, safety and efficiency they need in the automation process.
