TechTalk: Robo Edition vol.2 - high technology and state-of-the-art robotic solutions
At the end of September, high technology met again during the second edition of the industrial forum for production automation TechTalk: Robo Edition 2. The event brought together leading specialists from home and abroad, world-renowned brands, as well as hundreds of visitors and guests who were able to experience the latest developments and innovative solutions in the field of robotics.
Guests at TechTalk: Robo Edition 2 had the opportunity to observe a cobot palletizer model UR10 with a load capacity of up to 10 kg. On a demonstration setup, it was connected to a belt conveyor from mk Technology Group by our partner Robotec and a monitoring system, while a special Robotiq vacuum gripper allowed it to grip and lift metal parts weighing up to 4 kg. Visitors were also introduced to the fastest collaborative robot in the Universal Robots portfolio, the UR20, which was showcasing its first-class skills for efficient, high-speed palletizing throughout the forum.
Modern high-performance process automation solutions in one place
Another interesting " assistant" for the industry, shown at the event, was a robot-sander. It is a Robotiq grinding head-equipped collaborative robot that can be set up to smooth any surface, no matter exactly what it is. It is also possible to optionally connect a vacuum cleaner to the sanding head to collect separated dust, and the whole solution is available as a ready-made module from our partners at Robotec.
Other complex solutions such as the palletizer and depalletizer also caught attention. Equipped with a double conveyor with robot and vision system, they are capable of sorting different parts according to their size and shape. Another revolutionary industrial automation tool was QKM's Tobot, a turnkey solution for sorting, stacking and selecting small to medium-sized parts, as well as a separate SCARA robot with machine vision, an adaptive vibrating plate and safety enclosure from mk Technology Group.
Visitors to TechTalk: Robo Edition 2 were able to observe a palletizer in action, equipped with a 3D sensor that scans chaotically messy parts and recognizes which is the most convenient to intercept. The sensor system sends the coordinates to the UR cobot with the needed information and on that basis, with the appropriate gripper, it finds and picks the selected part from all and starts to line it up correctly on another pallet. The task is performed with a 3D ultrasonic and optical vision camera from Photoneo, which is a 3D scanner with very high resolution, allowing extremely precise positioning.
The overall landscape of innovative and high-tech robotic systems was complemented by three autonomous MiR mobile robots, each of which dutifully performed its task throughout the forum. Designed with the idea of completely freeing humans from heavy, tedious and repetitive operations, they are able to carry loads completely autonomously and safely along a predefined route in the warehouse of the future.
Innovative developments for production automation, "born" out of collaboration with Soltec and UR
Once again this year, we were able to meet Konica Minolta's intelligent solutions, which showcased the latest-generation visual inspection systems for production processes. Among the active participants of TechTalk: Robo Edition 2, who showed advanced robotic solutions, were also the companies Soldar and Ultraflex Corporation.
